One of the great advantages of using community newspapers to promote your message is the ability to uniquely group together newspaper coverage areas to a level of geography like no other media can. This inherent characteristic applies to both ROP campaigns and the distribution of flyers. In fact, one of the best-kept secrets of community newspapers on the prairies is the precision with which our members distribute their publications week in and week out.

With community newspapers, we can access analysis tools to best target or pinpoint specific FSA or 6-digit postal code (even specific PO box holders in some cases) within a newspaper's circulation area. It is also important to note that all community newspapers must provide audited Circulation Reports twice a year to keep up to date on communities served and to ensure your message reaches the right audience.

At this time the average cost-per-thousand (CPM) for a one-time FSI campaign in a selection of AdWest community newspapers averages $60. While this may be slightly higher than other print media, this is due in large part to the cost associated by our members newspapers to serve what has widely been acknowledged as a "tougher to reach" audience. A large part of our coverage area is outside of larger urban centres where distances between distribution points may, in many cases, be hundreds of miles.
