Submitting entries – Logging in

If you are entering for the categories 1) Best Agriculture Supplement, 2) Special Sections/Supplements or 3) Newspaper Website Award you do not need to log in.

This year the AWNA is trying out a contest system hosted by  SmalltownNewspapers.com

Here are the steps for newspapers to log in:

1. Go to the website www.betternewspapercontest.com 
2. Click on "Newspaper  Login" (upper left)
3. Select the appropriate  contest (2010 AWNA Premier Awards) from the Contest drop-down menu
4. Select your newspaper  from the News Organization drop-down menu
5. If this is your first time here, enter the temporary password 'bnc', and you will then asked to select your own password, for account security
6. If you have logged in previously (even for an earlier competition), enter the password you chose for yourself.

Once you're logged in

When you are logged in and viewing your 'dashboard' you can see from here  the entries and info you have submitted so far.

To add an entry:

1. Hover mouse over  "My Contest" (upper left), and select "Submit Entry"
2. Choose a category and  fill in the appropriate fields
3. Click Browse to upload your entry (The hi-res PDF page that you submitted to AWSOM is ideal)
4. Click Submit

To edit entries:

1. If you had navigated  away from your dashboard screen, hover mouse over "My Contest" (upper  left), and select "Manage Entries"
2. From your dashboard,  choose the appropriate "Action" shown the right hand side of each  entry

To change your  account info (contact info, etc.):

1. Hover mouse over  "My Contest" (upper left), and select "My Account"
2. Change the appropriate  information

Judging

Judges with expertise in the various areas of competition review all of the entries, rate them and make extensive comments for the benefit of all entrants. If you are interested in being a judge, please contact Maurizia in the AWNA Central Office.

Announcing the Winners

Nominees are announced and presentation of the awards are made at special AWNA functions held over the course of the year. AWNA creates an extensive presentation of the winning entries at each event as well as publishing a commemorative tabloid.
