Fire Prevention Awards

The Alberta Fire Commissioner’s Office (FCO) reminds all AWNA members that it’s not too early to start thinking about Fire Prevention Week. Fire Prevention Week is held every October to make the public aware of the importance of fire prevention and emergency planning. An important component of the Fire Prevention Week event in Alberta is the partnership between the Alberta FCO and the AWNA. Using material provided by the FCO, AWNA members are encouraged to put together special Fire Prevention Week section to spread the message of fire prevention in their communities. Stay tuned to the AWNA website for more information on how your paper can get involved with Fire Prevention Week 2008.

For more information contact Mahendra Wijayasinghe at the Alberta Emergency Management Agency at 780-415-0546 (to call toll free within Alberta, dial 310-0000) or visit their website.
